Potato Features
Grip on own data brings benefits of precision farming to the grower
Much is expected from precision farming both inside and outside the potato sector. The term is often mentioned in the same breath as a sustainable future for potato cultivation. But precision farming is more than a future perspective. It’s being researched, experimented with and innovated around the world.

Challenges of the Potato Harvest
In the case of the potato, the crop grows completely underground and the tubers are also very sensitive to mechanical stress due to their high water content.

Multi-Stage Potato Care
In the management of potato crops on conventional farms, the current focus is on the optimal application of herbicides in the pre-emergence stage.

Potato planting - the basis for successful potato cultivation
The basis for successful potato cultivation is established with potato planting that is appropriate to the location. This involves both a loose, not too moist and sufficiently warm soil and an even placement of the planted tubers in the row. Broken grading of the planting material can further improve the starting conditions, as it is easier to maintain a constant planting depth with tubers of approximately the same size.

Requirements for potatoes are continuing to increase
Thanks to their high adaptability, potatoes are cultivated on all continents, and their contribution to feeding the world’s population is very important due to their particularly high nutrient density per hectare. However, the continuing progression of climate change is resulting in new pressure to adapt. Due to its intensity and pace, it will be very difficult to counter this with the solutions that are available so far.

Farms of the Future
In cooperation with PotatoWorld Magazine
Precision agriculture is a farming management concept based on observing, measuring and responding to inter and intra-field variability in crops. How can it help to meet the challenges Agriculture faces? In a Dutch Farm of the Future, we combine agro-ecological knowledge with precision agriculture technologies.

More precision in potato production; weed control
In cooperation with PotatoWorld Magazine
Precision agriculture is a farming management concept based on observing, measuring and responding to inter and intra-field variability in crops. How does this apply to weed control in potatoes. Let us have a look at variable rate application of soil herbicides.

Precision agriculture (PA) is a farming management concept based on observing, measuring and responding to inter and intra-field variability in crops. Spatial optimization of planting density of potatoes is high on the wish list of farmers.
